Hey, what's up? :)

I've done A LOT Since you heard from me last time  ;)
I've been swimming every day and tomorrow is our last swim Meet - districts. We will leave school at 9:15, go to IHOP (International House of Pancakes ), After that, the rest of the day will be spent at the rec.center.

Sooooo, what has happened?:
Well, there's been a Mid-Orientation with YFU, where we Discussed how to be a good kid and solve Possible problems.
That Sunday I also went to the movies with Quinci, we saw "Perks of being a wallflower" - weird, but nice movie! Talking about movies, there is commercials showing a trailer for a movie called Identity Thief and I KNOW That i have seen the trailer a long time ago, before I went here. But I can not find any information about it being on in Sweden before.

The Friday after that was our last real swim meet, Which included a senior - goodbye - thingy: P where They also included me and Stine since this is our last (and only) season too. We got a pink rubber duck, a t-shirt and a sign with my name on.

The Weekend After that, two weeks ago, Stine and I spent at Bennie's house. We watched "The One Act" shows, Which are 35 minutes shows That students from different schools the student has directed and comp things . Tallwood Reviews Reviews Reviews Reviews Ranked 3rd place and missed the chance to go to districts and continue comp things. We spent the night playing games (for the rest of the year).
The Sunday we spent with our Area Rep, Sandi and her husband, looking at the musical "Frog Kiss", Which was GREAT - I LOVED IT! great dances and songs, and it reminded me of my beloved ones back home <3 and, you are what you think you are!

Last week we had Monday - Martin Luther King Jr. and friday - Day-and-staff , off. sooooo NICE: D The Monday we tried to find dresses again, without any luck .... Gosh it's hard to find the right dress, in the right color, shape and price.
Friday Mum, Stine and I rented a car and drove to Charlottesville, where we on Saturday had an orientation with the exchange student in the northern part of Virginia, met some Finish girls and disproved Their stereotype about Swedes, Which was a bad stereotype. It is interesting how little we, or at least I know about Finland, eventhough it is our neighbor. Did you know They have to learn Swedish for at least 3 years Because an agreement so a long time ago? That is Crazy! and did you know That They do not use spices, so their food it kind of like tasteless ;) - well you learn something new everyday!
well Well, after the orientation we and about 20 other exchange students and host family members went to the mountain, Massanutten, for skiing. IT WAS AWESOME! we skied for about 5 hours and it was just great: D
Sunday we left early for a wonderful lunch at The Cheesecake Factory and a birthday lunch for Jenna.

Today we had a interesting class In Drama, we Talked about what makes a Woman and Zoom makes a Man and we saw a great clip on Youtube (down here) That explains EVERYTHING! or what do you say Emil? ;)

OH The weather is sooooo bipolar here, one weeks its snowing - YES I SAID SNOWING, only a few inches but it was still white on the ground ;) but the other week its really hot, and the changes given me colds .. . : (I miss the Biostrath Mommy <3

After 5 months here I can say that I haven´t really had an extreme homesickness period, of course I have cried some times and I think about my family every day.

The hardest questions I have to answer here are: how's life in Sweden? And Do you like America? or Is America or Sweden beast?
I mean, how is life in Sweden? boring? different for sure ! somewhere you mind your own business, should not think you are better than anyone else, but I have a little bit of a feeling that most people actually do, they just don't say it.
Of course I like it here, but it is different. The culture, the social life, the laws and rules, the morality: for example the "older is always right", do not curse in front of older and younger people and preferably not at all, America is freedom - but we do not really know how other countries has it, lets put as many rules as Possible so That Teenagers knows what to do, NE - dont tell Them what not to do and what to do at the sametime, teenagers wants to be trusted, if you treat Them They like kids will behave as kids and not follow the rules!
Okay NOW I AM GENERALIZING   & TAKING IT OVER THE TOP, choosing the most extreme things from different types of people, far from everybody/anybody is like this!
And if I would choose, I think I would choose to live in Sweden. I  WOULD NEVER EVER HAD IMAGINE SAYING THAT 6 MONTHS AGO, 6 months ago I was so tired of Sweden, Vellinge and just wanted to get out of there. And now when I'm out, I miss it and will appreciate so much when I come home. I have a perfect experience about the quote "It's the people who makes the place"- ish- thingy.

And  I really have to go to bed  now!
Enjoy your day ! I will add pictures tomorrow :)

Good Night :* ! / Ida

Today its Tuesday, I'm sitting exhausted in the couch just finished with English notes for a persuasive essay. After a dinner at my Area Representative's, Sandi, house with Benni and Stine (exchange students from Denmark). At the dinner with her husband, the husband always ask for what we have learned that day. And we ate deer, which he had hunted down himself with his bare arms -  no thats too much ! but he did hunt it himself ! and it was the first time for me I think, and it tasted pretty good.
Before the dinner swimming was on the list, 1.5 hour training and 1.5 hour waiting at school, a great time to spend with the part of the team that actually takes the bus. Since teenagers can take their drivers license at an age  of 16, with restrictions on passengers, a lot of the people on the team drive. Which I also would do, because without it you cant go anywhere, since they don't have any public transportation. Or they actually do have some buses, but its only "special" people that uses it, I've heard.

This week is "glow week" at the school, since we have a "glow dance" Saturday. I don't know if I'm gonna go though, it will be kind of like homecoming and I may have some other plans ...
Well glow week includes(or should include in my case) outfits like following:
Monday - fashion disaster
Tuesday - senior citizens
Wednesday - peppermint
Thursday - favorite sports team - PO ME' SVENSKA TROJAN !
Friday - Neon and Pep-rally last block.

Hmmm. otherwise, I do not think I have anything more to tell y'all ! ;)
Enjoy the rest of the week ! :)

I am sorry Stine ! Thank you for being an awesome exchange sister and for the Christmas gifts ! <3

And since I've understood that you have some interest in the weather over here I will tell you that it has gotten a lot colder, which means its around 5 degrees Celsius. But it is pretty bipolar, one day its raining, the other day it's pretty warm and sunny, the other day it's cloudy and really cold. But we are talking winter jacket for people like me, but a lot of teenagers doesn't use jackets, they just have a thick sweater.
Which makes me get into the topic clothes. Waow, you can find all different types in our school, since we are 2000 students in the ages between 14-19. (I feel old sometimes ... And I can't understand that I turn 18 this summer, that! Is crazy ! .) but generally it's jeans, some soft t-shirt and a sweater. The most of the boys doesn't really seem to care about how the looks, which I can understand, because it is pretty early for caring at 6 in the morning. But still, a shower now and then could be nice - haha ! :P
Then the girls, Waow! Some girls wear high heels and model-ish everyday, while some doesn't care at all.
It is interesting to see all people !

Don't forget to read the other post! Take care :D !

And tell me what you want to know, what you like to read about and other comments ! :)

Some phone pictures !

Uuuuuh ! I have a lot to tell you guys today, christmas and new years eve :)

But first of all I want to thank My Family, my Friends, my Boyfriend, my Grandparents and Relatives who have sent letters and packages for Christmas. It made me endlessly happy and I appreciate it soooooo much ! :D
Last but not least I want to thank my host family who is making this year an awesome year for me and wants to share their lives and home with such a person as me ;) ! THANK YOU MUM AND DAD ! <3

School ended the December 21st, when we had a completely normal school day. And this is also the day Jenna(+Ruby & Lucy) and Andrew(+Boscoe) (= 5 dogs in the house) arrived.
We went to Bush Gardens the 22nd(look at previous post) and we didnt really do anything special the 23rd, scrapbooked, talked with my family back home and we had another family eating pizza in the evening and I made brunch; Västerbottenpaj and fruit salad :) and we made "cracker houses" (instead of gingerbread houses) and danish "Vaniljekranse" - waow, I've eaten A LOT of cookies ! mmm-mmm-mmmmh - as we say in Swedish, "Min mamma säger att tjocka barn inte får äta bullar, men mmmmmmh vad gott det är !" HAHA !

We started off the 24th with relaxing and wonderful Christmas massage :D ! and after that we prepared dinner, ate ham, mashed potatoes and red cabbage and went to church, United Community Methodist Church, where they didnt have the alter bread Im used to, but a real loaf of bread! and the sermon ended with "the silent night" and raising lights in the darkened room. (notice NO GIFTS!)

THE MORNING OF THE 25TH !!! :D got woken up by Andrew and a Boscoe in my bed, put on my new Swedish-ish(american bought) sweatshirt and my swedish-swedish PJ's (which Dad has complained I use to often, but i do love them!)  We started with the stocking gifts, ate breakfast and then we opened the rest of the gifts. It was so "cozy" to do it in the PJ's almost just woken up! a great start of the day :D after two hours of opening we got ready for the Christmas dinner: Turkey (yes it seems like they eat turkey every holiday) sweet potatoes ( something we should eat more in Sweden - gosh its delicious!), red cabbage, stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, gravy, AND I drank JULMUST !!! haha !
And Grandma' Ann, Aunt Sue and Rick and their son Eric visited us.

It didnt really happen much in the Intermediate days, a lot of scrapbooking, movies and chill around, recovering, we made pepparkakor (better late than never) and the 31st we started the Ring Dance Dress Haunt. WAOW ! tried on the most expensive dresses I've ever worn. But I am still looking ;) ! The first store was a bit of a confidence killer, but it got better throughout the day.

sooo. The 31st = New Years Eve. which is a pretty big party "holiday" in Sweden, isn't that big of a deal here. Since fireworks belongs to "the most important day on the planet" - 4th of July, and it's more something for adults. Me, Stine and 5 other exchange students met at a house, ate some Tacos(with chicken), a delicious american chocolate cake, saw some movies and jumped in 2013. I Had a great time and can't wait to make 2013 awesome ! and try to, as everybody else and every year, get in shape, at least as I was when I got here. But  of course enjoy the time I have left here in the US :)

Enjoy the rest of the holiday Swedish students, I am going back to school tomorrow (Wednesday)
JIHOO ! can't wait, at all ...

TAKE CARE ! :*

Some YFU students met at Bush Gardens (comparable with Tivoli in Kopenhagen) !
